today is better

Yesterday was no good. I was so excited because I had all day to paint. I had my boards all cut and planned out, but when it got to the actual painting I wasn’t liking what I was seeing. It was an off day I guess.

I finished 2 paintings today. The first one is in the shop now, and the other one will be posted tomorrow.
scarf.jpgfollowed.jpgOf course I did another one with my yellow coat and snow. I’m really hoping it snows this year! It’s been so cold the last couple of days. It’s that dry brisk cold that makes for good snowy days. I’ve got my fingers crossed every morning.

I’ve got bulbs to plant and a purse to make and snow to wish for…..

new website, new painting, new skirt

Yay! I’ve started my blog! A wonderful bloggie to call my very own. A place where I can share my work and thoughts and updates on my shop.

I just finished a brand new painting just for this newness. Above is my self portrait with Totoro (my furry little guinea pig) and my favorite yellow coat. It’s also the main page of my revamped website. I’m still debating on whether or not I want to sell this one, I am very fond of my totoro and yellow coat, but I have prints available in the store.

Yesterday I made myself a very wonderful skirt. I think I’m getting the hang of this sewing thing. It fits perfectly and it’s so dang cute!
skirt I must say, I’m very proud of myself. Here’s a shot of me looking down at it…

It’s so much fun! I love sewing! I’m really liking this making my own clothes thing. Now I don’t have to wonder what sweatshop in what country is making my $8 t-shirt.

I’ve got lots of things coming up for the shop in the next couple of weeks: magnets, stickers and more art. I’m trying to balance my time better. It’s a slow process, but it’ll happen!
